George and Amal Clooney showed us the true definition of 'couple goals' after the 61-year-old helped his wife avoid a wardrobe malfunction over the weekend.
The iconic duo attended this year's annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony where they stunned fans with their beautiful ensembles. George showed us that he's still got it in his black tux and bowtie, while Amal looked as graceful as ever in a red, off-the-shoulder Valentino gown.
But it wasn't just the couple's beauty that caught people's attention.
While walking along the red carpet and posing for photos, George came to the aid of his wife, an accomplished lawyer, whose cape seemingly got tangled as she stood in front of the cameras.
Instead of just turning a blind eye, the Gravity actor proceeded to take a step back from the photo shoot and help his wife out.
After undoing the little mishap, the 61-year-old jokingly posed for a photo with his hands in the air as if to say "ta-dah" - much to the amusement of onlookers in attendance at the gala.
During that time, Amal went from looking slightly flustered to then smiling at her husband.
And of course, the internet was loving it!
"That’s so beautiful! Wonderful husband and I can tell your a team" (sic), commented one user, while another added: "Seems like every day there's more to love about George Clooney."
The heartwarming moment came just before the two-time Academy Award winner was given an award for his achievements in the entertainment industry as well as American culture as a whole.
As per ABC News, George released a statement on the Kennedy website after receiving the honor, writing: "Growing up in a small town in Kentucky I could never have imagined that someday I’d be the one sitting in the balcony at the Kennedy Center Honors. To be mentioned in the same breath with the rest of these incredible artists is an honor.
"This is a genuinely exciting surprise for the whole Clooney family."
Other prominent figures were also in attendance for the show, including the President of the United States Joe Biden, and his wife, Jill. Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff made an appearance at the event too.
Beyond just recognizing talent, the gala is also an opportunity to raise money for the Kennedy Center, which puts on a variety of shows throughout the year.
