After the coronavirus was declared a pandemic, people began to panic-buy out of fear that there would be a shortage, despite there being no official indication that any such thing was about to happen.
This has reportedly resulted in a shortage of essential goods in some stores, such as tinned food, pasta, and toilet roll, leaving some of the most vulnerable people without what they need.
Now, one man has taken matters into his own hands by pretending to be a supermarket worker in the UK and warning shoppers not to panic-buy.

Dressed in the supermarket's uniform, the prankster, who goes by the name Spuddz on social media, tells shoppers: "I'm just gonna make sure that we're not panic-buying, we're not going to go crazy."
The incident took place in a UK Sainsbury's which is currently limiting shoppers to three of each item and two of essential items like toilet paper.
In the video above, however, Spuddz manages to convince a man who was about to buy four pizzas that he could only purchase one. He then puts three back on the shelf, despite the fact that in reality, he'd have only had to return one.

Spuddz then gets into an argument with a woman in the toilet paper aisle when he accuses her of panic-buying because she was holding three packets.
The woman complains about his tone of voice and tells him that she is going to speak to the store's manager. Spuddz then tells her that he is the manager, and she attempts to justify her actions by claiming that she was going to return some of the toilet paper after seeing it at different prices.
The prankster then filmed himself joking with other supermarket workers in the car park. They appeared to realize that he wasn't actually employed by the store.

Per the Metro, Sainsbury's is now investigating whether Spuddz has ever actually worked at the store.
A spokesperson has issued the following statement about their buying policy during the pandemic: "Customers are able to buy a maximum of three of any grocery product and a maximum of two on the most popular products including toilet paper, soap and UHT milk."
