A group of friends has successfully carried out a "reverse heist" at their local Wetherspoons pub.

Without a doubt, one of the most iconic elements of any Wetherspoons establishment is the decor of each pub. From carpets that wouldn't look out of place covering a seat on the tube to the toilets that are located up five flights of stairs - it's sadly the price we pay to be able to enjoy a pint for under three quid in 2022.

However, have you ever thought about where all the furnishings inside your local 'Spoons actually come from? Of course you haven't - you've probably been too busy enjoying a pitcher of Woo Woo to even notice.

And that's why this group of friends (@boafilms) were able to pull off the perfect "reverse heist" in their local Wetherspoons - sneaking in a special new addition to the walls of their Reading local.

Sharing the now-viral video to TikTok, one of the group can be heard explaining in the video: "Hey TikTok, here's how we pulled off a reverse heist in Spoons in under 60 seconds."

Check out the cheeky 'reverse heist' in the video below:

First, we see Noah "bashing in" a frame ready for the finished article. Next, the video cuts to the friends all gathered for a group photo by the river.

After getting their hands on an antique frame, the guys printed off their group picture as a black and white photo. At this point, in cannot be denied that the new piece of art looked exactly like the sort of tacky tat you'd expect to see hanging on the walls of your local Spoons.

And by the end of the video, the group can be seen enjoying a few pints while sitting around their photo; proudly hanging on the wall of their local Wetherspoons for the whole town to admire over a cheeky Curry Club. But the big question is: How long is the picture going to survive before being spotted?

After sharing the hilarious footage to TikTok, the video has amassed more than 2 million views and hundreds of comments from impressed social media users.

"If it lasts more than a few days it'll be there forever," one user commented.

A second added: "It should be a nationwide challenge how many photos can you get in spoons!"

One TikToker went even further and suggested: "Would be more impressive if you did a weekly visit to swap all the photos with your own and add more to their collection."

"That will be there till the end of time. Even if the staff notice they won’t care enough to do anything," a fourth joked.

I can't help but feel like this is the start of a very bizarre - but very welcome - TikTok trend.
