The only explanation for my continued lack of a Hogwarts letter is that a particularly inept barn owl has been delivering letters to the wrong address for the past 16 years.
Yes, many of us have had to contend with the creeping sense of disappointment that's accrued gradually with each passing year as we arrive at the gut-wrenching realization that we'll never go to the wizarding school.
Yet we mustn't sink beneath our grief, especially since there are countless other ways to enjoy the enduring magic of the Harry Potter series.

More than 20 years on from the release of the first Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the world remains as captivated as it ever was by the boy wizard.
With six further books, eight movies, a spinoff movie series and numerous theme parks dotted all over the globe, Potter mania is well and truly alive and kicking.
As such, merchandising opportunities for the Potter franchise are numerous.
In fact, it was just recently that we bought you the news that official Harry Potter Butterbeer is now available to be delivered to your door.

"Experience one of the Wizarding-World's most loved drinks with bottled Butterbeer. Serve the delicious drink chilled and poured from the bottle. The beverage features the familiar butterscotch flavour fans will recognise among other secret ingredients, making it the perfect gift for aspiring wizards and witches. Brewed in the UK, Butterbeer is available to buy in souvenir glass bottles with a collectable label designed by MinaLima." Reads a product description for the Butterbeer.
And now, a wonderfully inventive and intricate product has hit shelves: a Harry Potter memo pad that slowly reveals Hogwarts Castle as you tear pages out of it.
Per 9gag, the product is crafted by Japanese architectural model maker Triad Inc.
Below is a demonstration of the pad in action:
