Let this be a lesson to influencers - if you're putting your whole life on display, it can sometimes leave you exposed to opinions you'd rather not hear!
One UK influencer family is finding out about this the hard way after they got a barrage of hate for their newborn child's name.
Liana Jade, 24, and her partner Connor Darlington - who are popular on YouTube and have over two million followers - made the decision to give their baby son the moniker Koazy (pronounced Cozy).
When the name was unfortunately mocked on a recent podcast, Liana - who goes by the handle @lianajadee - tearfully took to her TikTok to post a video defending her choice of name.
Liana said in the lengthy TikTok video that the subject of 'new and unique' baby names was mentioned on The Unplanned Podcast, which is hosted by US couple Matt and Abby Howard.
While the pair didn't mention Koazy by name, they said during the episode that unusual baby names are utterly "ridiculous" and "out of control". They even said that calling your child something unique was a "red flag", and that "it might not be the flex you think it is" to call your child something that doesn't already exist.
It was then that Liana decided to speak to her eight million TikTok followers about her son's name, saying in the clip: "People have said we called him Koazy because he was cozy in the womb. But no. It was a name we already had and as I was getting so heavily pregnant, people were saying 'he's so cozy in your belly.'
"It confirmed to us that is what we should name him… we were like 'Oh my God, it's meant to be,'" adding that "I wasn't trying to name him anything for a flex."
"I knew everyone wasn't going to love the name so I am not going to sit here defending it," Liana continued. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But it's just different when there's this comment section open on such a big influencer's video of people, fully grown adults, just sat there slandering my baby's name."
Liana then said: "I think it's quite cruel – and if I had posted that video personally, I think I would have been very mindful of who was being named and how that can have an effect on other people."
Many people in the comments section have defended Liana over her decision, with one person writing: "Koazy is a cute name it fits him soo well it's so sweet and cute [...] DONT listen [to] them [...]."
