Man who 'died' and had an out of body experience explains what he saw before coming back
It's perhaps the greatest unanswered question - what happens when we die?
Well, one man who 'died' and had an out of body experience has explained what he saw and experienced before coming back to life.
In 2020, Jason Janas was making a sandwich for his lunch when he unexpectedly coughed up blood and collapsed, later waking up in an ICU bed in the hospital.
What happened next, Janas explained, occurred when he lost consciousness and went through a near-death experience.
What did Jason Janas see after 'dying?'
Janas explained that, after dying, he had a "360 degree" view of his hospital bed as he imagined floating outside of his body.
"I could see the nurses [around the bed]," Janas explained. "I could see everyone [in the room]. I was seeing through the wall and could see, through the window, this massive field of grass. The colours were liquid and they were flowing.
"The love that I experienced [was overwhelming] and I was ensconced by this light."
Janas that, being surrounded by this light, he was finally "at peace, for the first time in 50 years."
What happened after Jason Janas woke up?
Janas did survive and return to consciousness, but after what he called the most "profound" experience of his life, he says that he became depressed.
After his near-death experience (NDE), Janas explained that after leaving his body, he felt "nothing but love" but upon returning to his real life, there was a disconnect.
A few months after his NDE, Janas realised that his depression was linked to his previous experience.
"[When you die] you just feel love," Janas said. "It is a love that is incomprehensible to someone who hasn't had a near-death experience. It just does not exist.
"When I come back, I feel everybody's pain. I feel their rage, I feel their anger. It is truly hard to fit back in to a world you [now] know doesn't even exist."
