A man who says he had a near-death experience has opened up about what he believes is waiting for all of us in the afterlife.
David Hanzel, 57, from North Carolina told The Daily Star that he had the unique experience while in the hospital battling a lung infection and sepsis in 2015.
"When they took me in, they had to do surgery. I had 70 percent of my lung covered in infection and I had sepsis - it was running all through my body," he revealed. While there, he reportedly "flatlined" and fell into a coma for two whole months. "I didn't even know I was dead, I didn't, I had no conception," he added.
David - who says he is "an extremely psychic person" - had apparently believed long before before this incident that he knew we would die young.
Though, as David was about to pass on, he claims he was greeted with a "beautiful afterlife", saying: "I just remember closing my eyes because I was sick. And then when I opened my eyes back up, I was in this night sky. It was the most beautiful, velvety, silky night sky. No clouds. No stars. No nothing. And there wasn't a beginning or end to it."
It was there that he says he was guided by two beings. "All of a sudden one being was on my left and one on my right. They just felt comfortable. Like I knew them. They showed me that it was the most beautiful, golden-white light. It was so pretty and there were all these angels and everything going up into it," he said.
And where did these spiritual beings guide David? The bar.
"They had told me this later on, whatever your beliefs are or whatever you're comfortable with - this is what you're going to see first when you die. They put me in almost like a bar. It had these beautiful coloured bottles on the side. No alcohol or nothing. They sent me walking up a big white building. It was marble and had the most beautiful marble veins you'd ever seen," David said.
He continued: "When you stepped, you didn't feel like your foot touched the ground. Like there's no gravity. It's kind of like you're floating and walking."
David then claimed that he was healed upon waking up from his coma, telling the outlet that he had an epiphany once he regained consciousness. "I came back with total forgiveness for everybody who's ever done anything bad to me. I think it literally took dying to understand all those things and all about religion," he said.
Now, David uses his presence on social media - and specifically TikTok - to teach others about spirituality and to answer questions regarding life after death.
According to his website, David has chosen to use his near-death experience to "spend his life in service to Spirit, giving them a voice to tell their stories and deliver the messages to their loved ones. With this dedication, he has been able to help others to understand and validate that there is a life after death and how to proceed on their life's journey with the help of Angels, Spirit guides, and there loved ones who have crossed over."
