Being in the shower is one of the most intimate times of the day: when you're naked and cleaning yourself under the running water, you're totally exposed and yet totally private. As such, the bathroom habits of others are pretty mysterious and can end up revealing a lot about a person.

But this week a new survey investigating the clandestine ablutions of hundreds of people has ended up arguably revealing a little too much about what people get up to in the shower. Read on if you dare...

According to a survey carried out by the bathroom company QS Supplies, a shocking one in 30 people have admitted that they actually poop in their own shower while washing.

More than 1,000 people from the UK and the United States participated in the questionnaire about their embarrassing private bathroom habits, and QS Supplies was able to gather some fairly shocking statistics about what other people are getting up to when they're performing their daily hygiene routines.

In addition to the one in 30 people who defecate in the shower, one in 20 people admitted that they masturbate in the shower, one in five people surveyed said they spat in the shower, 25 per cent of people said that they blew their nose, and a shocking 33 per cent of people owned up to routinely urinating in the shower tray. Urgh!

As if that wasn't bad enough, 18 per cent of the 1000 people surveyed claimed to only bathe three times a week, while only 31 per cent of those people quizzed said that they washed every single day. The average number of washes turned out to be between four and six per week.
Commenting on their findings, a spokesperson for QS Supplies stated: "Our bathing habits are more than purely logical choices made to stay hygienic. Instead, they can reveal secrets about who we are, what we care about, and even what our relationships are like."
