You probably don't think twice about how clean your cleaning gadgets are.
Seriously, how many of us are guilty of forgetting to clean our dishwasher or regularly empty our vacuum cleaner? When the appliances are used for cleaning, it can be easy to forget that they also need a good clean.
But now a viral post has surfaced on social media showing why it is probably a very good idea for you to open up your old tumble-dryer before you throw it away and get a new one.
Per The Metro, the post in question was shared by a woman named Lana Kelly from Cleveland in Ohio, who took to Facebook on November 13 to post an image showing the long-forgotten contents of an old tumble dryer.
As you can see from the image below, Lana's post shows a veritable treasure trove of loose change, crumpled banknotes, and other assorted bits and bobs.
Lana captioned her post:
"Before you throw them non working dryers out, You might want to get a screw driver and open them up."
Although it is not known if the tumble dryer (and its lost contents) in the image belonged to Lana, the post has proven popular, amassing over 36,000 shares since being posted to the social media site.
But tumble-dryers aren't the only places where you can expect to find some hidden treasure.
Back in 2019, a father and son went viral after they found an incredible amount of cash inside an abandoned vending machine.
Check out the video of the vending machine discovery here:As you can see in the footage above, Rick Langos and his son Darick, who hail from Port Barrington, Illinois, filmed themselves opening the vending machine after Rick's demolition company acquired the assets of anything left on the property he was demolishing.
After cracking the machine open, Darick can be heard stating: "Dude! There is a c*** tonne of money in there. Holy s***. It's gotta be at least $100 right there. I can't believe they didn't empty this out. It keeps coming. We just hit the jackpot."
So there you have it: before you toss something on the scrap heap, take the time to investigate it first. It could be worth your while...
