You never realize what you have until it's gone. That's the lesson one American girl learned when she found herself suddenly bald after just one shower. Ashley Robinson, 21, experienced extreme hair loss after washing her hair with a conditioner she'd just purchased.

Earlier this month, Ashley bought Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume at her local Walmart in New Richmond, Wisconsin. In a Facebook post, Ashley revealed that following her first time using the conditioner, she started pulling out clumps of her hair after leaving the product in for just 10 minutes.

Because Ashley lives alone, she believes someone tampered with the conditioner by mixing it with hair removal cream in the store, or even before it was on the shelf.

After her shower, Ashley's head was so red and itchy that she went to the emergency room. Then, she went to the salon to see about extensions. But because they would have put too much tension on her remaining hair, she decided to shave it off instead.

The entire experience has left Ashley completely rattled, and she even filed a police report so Walmart can release surveillance footage. As a result, her friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help Ashley pay for wigs, medical bills, and legal action. So far, the page has raised almost $1,500 out of the $5,000 goal.

Ashley says that her newly bald head makes her very anxious and that it is difficult for her to go out in public. In a Facebook post, she writes:

"Tomorrow I go back to work and I’m very anxious, my emotions never been so high. I love my job and people but I’m scared. They told me it’s okay to be scared but know [you're] not alone at all. God is working something very magical and he has huge plans for you! I’m thankful for the continued outpouring love from everyone!"
