A woman has been praised for sharing very candid social media posts showcasing her hair loss journey as a result of alopecia.
Throughout our lives, our bodies are constantly changing. We grow up, we grow old, and along the way, some of us will develop conditions that drastically affect our looks.
Whether it's a thyroid disorder that makes you gain weight or, in the case of model and activist Robyn Germyn, a hair loss condition. These conditions can be incredibly difficult to live with and overcome.
Robyn was diagnosed with alopecia areata nine years ago, and she's been taking to social media to document her journey with the condition for some time now.
This year, she posted a couple of videos on TikTok showing off her bald patches that she is able to conceal with a wig.

When you have alopecia areata, your body needlessly attacks your hair follicles, which become progressively smaller and stop producing hair altogether.
Robyn also has an Instagram account, where she often posts photos depicting the various stages of her hair loss and partial hair regrowth.
Back in 2017, she posted photos in which she was almost completely bald, more recently, though, much of her hair has grown back, with some patches missing.
Earlier this week, Robyn wrote about the importance of embracing yourself for exactly who you are.
She wrote: "The journey of having something that makes you 'different' isn’t always easy. But time and time again I am shown how important it is to embrace what was given to you. Sharing my story has always come back to me tenfold.
"The amount of love, support, and acceptance that has come my way these past 5 years has made sharing what I’m going through, worth it.
"I am grateful to have this platform to be able to express myself and let my emotions flow through words and captured moments."
Needless to say, her followers are often flocking to the comments of her Instagram posts to tell her what an inspiration she is to them.
