In a bewildering tale that reads like a movie script, two professional baseball players named Brady Feigl, not only share the same name but also sport eerily similar appearances, including a towering height of 6ft4, fiery red hair, and glasses.

The uncanny coincidences have finally driven these athletes to take a DNA test to see if they might actually be related.

Reported by the New York Post, 32-year-old Brady Feigl of the Long Island Ducks was astonished to discover his nearly identical namesake, 27-year-old Brady Feigl, who plays for the Las Vegas Aviators.

What started as a bizarre twist of fate in 2015 has only snowballed into a full-blown investigation involving elbow surgeries, mistaken identities, and social media mix-ups.

The Feigls' doppelgänger saga first began when they underwent identical elbow surgeries performed by the same doctor, Dr. James Andrews.

"I was probably six or seven months out of surgery and their office called our trainer and said, 'Hey, when’s Brady reporting for surgery? Is he getting down here tomorrow?'", the younger Feigl recalled to The Clarion Ledger.

The bewilderment didn't end there. According to the younger Feigl, this incident was also how the older Feigl realized he had a spitting-image counterpart: "He was like, 'He had it six months ago. What are you talking about?' That’s how I found out there was two of us."

Fast-forward two years later, the University of Missouri’s baseball team made headlines by tagging the wrong Brady Feigl, who now plays for the Las Vegas Aviators, in a birthday shoutout on social media.

The tweet read: "Big birthday shoutout to JR Pitcher @bmfeigl! Have an awesome day! #BirthdayReb." The confusion led the former San Diego Padres player to clarify, "Wrong Brady Feigl. Might be looking for @bfeigl39…"

After DNA testing, it was confirmed that the athletes were not biologically related, defying many expectations. Despite this revelation, the older Feigl expressed, "We’re still brothers in a way," citing the perplexing chain of coincidences that have brought them together, as reported by The Sun.

This riveting story echoes a similar phenomenon from last year, when a TikTok video showing a man meeting his doppelgänger at the grocery store garnered over 1.1 million views and 172.8k likes.

In the video, a baby was left befuddled as it looked back and forth at its father and his almost-twin named Caleb.

As we're left pondering the mysteries of genetics and fate, one thing's for sure: the tale of the two Brady Feigls will remain a fascinating chapter in the world of sports, mistaken identity, and perhaps, cosmic coincidences.
