A woman who is believed to be a social media influencer has attracted criticism after she was filmed performing a squat routine in a swimsuit close to a religious ceremony in Bali, Indonesia.

Per news.com.au, the video was filmed on an undisclosed beach in Bali and was subsequently uploaded to a local Canggu-based Instagram account, @thecanggupole.

The NZ Herald describes the religious ceremony that was taking place nearby as a a Canang sari: "The daily offerings made by Balinese Hindus to thank the Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in praise and prayer".

The short video shows a woman performing squats, before the camera pans to a group of Balinese women in traditional dress as they prepare what seem to be offerings for a ceremony.

The video has been viewed many thousands of times on social media, and commenters have been left less than impressed by the actions of the woman in question.

You can see the footage right here:

The video was captioned: "Ignorancers In The Wild."

And it is safe to say people were far from impressed by the influencer's actions.

"No respect at all," wrote one commenter, while another added: "That was an utter disrespect for Bali culture; they should have done it elsewhere."

A third commenter added, "True content creators. Wrong place and time don't you think?"

One more person questioned whether they had permission to be there, writing, "Did they get permission from the people there at least?"

News.com.au states that it was unclear whether the woman was a trainer or simply filming content for social media channels.

Unfortunately, news.com.au further reports that this is not the first time that a visitor has been criticized for their behavior in Bali lately.

With Bali in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, it was announced that tourist sites would be closing. However, some individuals were said to have disregarded the closure of Karang Boma Cliff and visited the site anyway.
