An influencer has sparked a heated debate after claiming that grabbing a coffee and going for walks aren't acceptable date options.
Makeup artist Kornelija Slunjski took to TikTok to share her controversial view in a clip titled 'NO to zero effort men'. She told her 59K followers: "I do not accept a coffee or a walk as a possible date option."
She explained: "First of all, I'm not a dog that needs to be walked. Second, I have a Nespresso machine at home - works fabulous [sic]."
Watch the controversial TikTok below:Needless to say, the video did not go unnoticed on social media as it's been viewed over a million times and received thousands of comments.
Many viewers were so bothered by the suggestion that coffee and walks don't make suitable date options that they slammed the influencer for promoting "high maintenance cringe".
This was reflected in the video being later reposted to the sub-Reddit Cringetopia.
Alongside the video itself, it featured the sarcastic caption: "McDonald's it is."

Meanwhile, on TikTok, another critic branded the influencer "disrespectful".
They wrote: "That's so rude and disrespectful, not even to the men and their parents [but] also to the women who [prefer] coffee and walking over dinner."

A second similarly added: "Ummmmm i love walk / hikes thank you very much. People like you are what are making this world more materialistic [sic]."

A third less critical user pointed out one of the biggest benefits to coffee dates: "It gives you a chance to leave if it doesn't go well."

The criticism of the TikTok was addressed by the makeup artist who posted the clip, as she later said: "I mean, I understand that you guys say dinner is high maintenance, but that's just like… what I'm used to, you know?
"Where I come from, and that is Europe (Croatia), men pay for the first, second, third or whatever... like all the dates," she says.
She added: "And I'm not going to change my mind about this. That's how I was brought up. I could never be with a guy who makes me pay for my meal on the first date."
