A company boss has been forced to apologize after accidentally describing a female job applicant as "not that cute" in an email he accidentally sent to her.

As reported by the New York Post, hopeful Gracie Lorincz had applied for the position of 'brand representative' at the Auburn Hills-based Ava Lane Boutique - a company that reportedly aims to inspire "beauty through confidence".

However, as revealed in a now-viral TikTok post, the 21-year-old college graduate was quickly dismissed by the company's VP of Operations, Chuck DeGrendel, who accidentally sent Lorincz an email dismissing her application - labeling her as "not that cute".

Sharing the email to TikTok on Thursday, Lorincz captioned the post: "feeling amazing".

Check out the video and email below:

In the video - which has amassed over 1.4 million views, as of this writing - Lorincz shares the full email from DeGrendel, which reads in part: "This girl [Lorincz] is fresh out of college (Hope college) and not that cute. She applied to the sales model position. Are you sure you want me to interview her? Thanks, Chuck DeGrendel".

Speaking to Fox News, Lorincz’s mom described the incident as "embarrassing".

Per the NY Post, Lorincz’s mom added: "She is a sweet kid, she is not an attention hog, she is not a social media personality and didn’t anticipate what this turned into."

Ava Lane’s owners were subsequently flooded with one-star reviews on the company's Google Play page.

Additionally, husband and wife owners of the company Chuck and Laura DeGrendel later apologized in a Facebook Live video, where they described the message as "inappropriate".

In the video, DeGrendel said: "I sent a reply back to Laura that said that she was a recent college grad and I didn’t feel that she was that cute so I wasn’t sure if we wanted to proceed with an interview.

"I don’t know why I said that, but I did, and I’m very, very sorry for saying that because it was very unprofessional and really not in line with our core values here, or my core values in general."

In the Facebook video, DeGrendel's wife told viewers: "He made a mistake and he owns it."
