Most people aspire to find a love that will last a lifetime, but this is something that rings truer for this Ecuadorian couple than most.
At the incredible ages of 110 and 104, this husband and wife have been recognized by Guinness World Records as being the world's oldest married couple.
This comes eight decades after their parents initially approved of their union when they tied the knot on February 7, 1941, having met through their work as teachers back in 1934.
Mora is 110 years old and Quinteros is 104, and they have a combined age of 214 years and 358 days. To put Mora's age into context, she was born before the Titanic sank.
However, because their families didn't approve of the match, they never attended their 1941 wedding.
The pair actually married in secret in front of their godparents and best friends because their parents not only disproved of the marriage but they "did not have a good relationship."
Thankfully, their parents did eventually come around to their union, and they said: "With time and patience we were able to unite them and we became an example and the best reference for the younger generations."
The couple credits their incredibly long marriage to the respect and love that they have shown each other over the years.
"Family unity under the rules of love, mutual respect, honest work, and proper education based on family values are the keys to healthy coexistence," said the couple, the record-keeping site reported.
The couple has five children, but the eldest sadly passed away at the age of 58, as well as 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
They said that while they had the odd disagreement, they worked through it in a healthy way, and always kept their problems hidden from their children.
"Respect, compassion and consideration with which we maintained our relationship was very important; we never argued or fought," they said. "There were disagreements, but they were not noticeable to any of our children who also deserved respect and love."
The couple loves going to the movies and theatre, and they are slowly enjoying these activities again now that restrictions caused by the current pandemic have been easing.
"The love and maturity that we had as a couple from the beginning of the marriage allowed us to know each other and grow emotionally to define our future," they said.
"It is true that at this time it is difficult because we are overwhelmed by the pandemic that affects the world and we still do not have a solution. However, the first step for us to follow the rules with respect and love the life."
