We all have a different preference on how we like our steak cooked, but I can guarantee most of us wouldn't want our sirloin prepared in a dishwasher.
Well, that's exactly what CBS news correspondent Michael George accomplished, as he proudly took to social media to show off the surprisingly impressive results.
Sharing his video to Twitter, George captioned the post: "I COOKED A STEAK IN THE DISHWASHER!?!
"A dishwasher immerses dishes in 130 degree hot water... that’s basically a giant sous vide machine, right?! The steak came out a perfect medium rare! It just needed 2 minutes in the pan to brown the outside!"
Check out the impressive culinary technique in the video below:"Omg it actually worked! I cooked a steak in the dishwasher and it came out AMAZING," he added in a second tweet.
In the short clip, George can be seen seasoning his raw steak, before sealing it inside a vacuum-sealed bag. He then places it into his dishwasher, hits 'start', and waits for the cycle to come to an end.
What emerges from the steaming machine is a seemingly cooked steak, which George finishes off in a frying pan for two minutes on either side.
After sharing the video to Twitter, people were quick to comment their surprise that the steak actually looks - dare I say it - pretty darn good.
One person responded saying: "it.....does look good."
Another pointed out: "Interesting. Kinda like *steam-cooking* it in a microwave....then finishing it in a fry pan. With a microwave....you'd use less energy and no water."
George replied to several users asking why he even attempted the bizarre cooking process, in which he said it was "just for science!".
This comes after a woman shocked social media users after she cooked a steak for her boyfriend in a toaster.
The lady - named Juliette or @itsmeju1iette on the popular video-sharing platform - captioned the post, "Cooking steak for my boyfriend" along with the hashtags "cooking" and "chef".
Check out the moment Juliette cooks her boyfriend steak using a toaster:It goes without saying, but please don't try cooking a steak in your toaster at home... it looks like a great way to ruin a perfectly good steak.
