A man has created a huge gingerbread Hogwarts castle, and all we can say is that it's enough to make any muggle truly believe in magic.

Now, as any self-respecting Harry Potter fan will know, the castle itself is not only the setting of the majority of the series, but one of the most iconic places in the magical world - home to the likes of the Triwizard Tournament and, more concerningly, the Chamber of Secrets.

Cast your mind back to the trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone:

Terry Hartill, a contestant on the 2018 edition of The Great British Bake Off, made the huge castle out of gingerbread, and the impressive structure stood at 1.5m long and 1m wide.

However, it turns out that Hartill isn't the world's biggest Harry Potter fan; instead, a client had commissioned him to make the castle for an event, which like so many this year, was canceled because of the ongoing pandemic.

In an interview with the Express and Star, he said: "I spent three weeks making the moulds, and then about 50 to 60 hours creating it - it's all made out of gingerbread and icing.

"I'm not a Harry Potter fan as such so I wasn't aware how big Hogwarts Castle actually is. I got a bit of a shock when I saw what it actually looked like - and I think the event organisers got a shock when they saw how accurate I had made it.

"But it has to be right if I'm going to do it. I do extreme baking."

Terry made the castle from a cardboard, to begin, with before making each of the pieces of gingerbread and putting it together, with the aid of special tins to make the towers and turrets, which are pictured above.

Once the castle had been complete, Terry made a textured base to mimic the rocky Scottish terrain where Hogwarts is set (fictionally, of course).

This comes after fans were left stunned after learning that this Bridgerton star was also in Harry Potter.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy a tonne of gingerbread and attempt to create a bad knock-off of Terry's Hogwarts castle.
