A man has opened up about how he faced an eye-watering $600 bill after he accidentally misread the menu at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant.
Jeffrey Paige visited the Gordon Ramsay Atlantic City restaurant at Harrah's with his girlfriend to celebrate the world once again opening up following the pandemic. To mark the special occasion, he decided to treat himself to American Wagyu beef.
However, as he looked at the menu, he saw what he believed to be an even better deal with the Triple Seared Japanese A5 – which is also known as Kobe and believed to be the best cut of beef available.
Wrongly, Jeffrey believed it was going to cost him $35 for four ounces of Kobe, compared to the $84 he was going to spend on eight ounces of Wagyu.

"I had never had real deal Kobe," he told the Mirror.
"It was like nothing else you'll ever have. Melt in your mouth delicious. We also ordered a couple of sides, appetizers, and my girlfriend had chef Ramsay's famous beef wellington for the first time ever."
However, despite enjoying the meal thoroughly, Jeffrey quickly realized that it was not the amazing deal he had thought when the bill arrived, totaling more than $600.
Jeffrey and his girlfriend went on to double-check the menu and that's when she realized that it was $35 for an ounce of Kobe and not per four ounces – and the hungry diner had ordered 12oz!
After taking full ownership of the expensive mistake, Jeffrey now insists he regrets nothing, even if it came at a whopping price.

"I wish Chef Ramsay was there to come out and call me a donut for f***ing this up lol," he later wrote of the expensive blunder in a now-deleted post on Reddit.
"I enjoyed the hell out of it. No regrets baby!
"My family and I are huge Gordon Ramsay fans, we watch his shows - Hell's Kitchen, Masterchef - and I've been to his restaurants before and loved everything we've gotten," he continued
"The steak and the experience were unforgettable, and if I had to make this blunder at any restaurant in the world, I'm glad it was at Chef Ramsay's."
All's well that ends well, then! Albeit for an eye-watering price...
