Despite the fact we're literally unconscious as it happens, sleep it one of the best parts about being alive.

There's nothing quite like getting into a comfortable bed at the end of a long day, drifting into slumber, and letting your body recharge. In fact, according to Dreams.co.uk, the average person will spend 26 years of their life asleep - or roughly one-third of their existence.

Now, sleep has many great benefits - it helps boost our mental and physical well-being, and improves our natural immunity and fertility - but one of the best parts of sleep is our ability to dream.

Per WebMD, dreams are essentially "stories and images that our mind creates while we sleep". Now, although these can be scary, for most of us, they're just a bizarre creative outlet where we can do and be anything we want. In fact, some of us can come up with some incredible ideas in our sleep!

However, the most annoying part about dreams is when we forget them. You could have been doing something incredible - like scoring the winning touchdown at the Super Bowl or finally having a date with your crush from work - but it was all a waste of time if you can't remember it.

And if we're spending one-third of our lives doing something, it's probably best to remember what it.

Enter Luke Entrup, a wellness coach and yogi who has amassed over 89,000 followers on TikTok thanks to his enlightening tips on how to live a better and healthier life.

Now, he's literally got your back if you want to improve your spinal health or if you want a great recipe for a wellness shot, but he's also recently shared his tips for always remembering your dreams.

In his video, he explains: "This is how you remember your dreams.

"If you can remember your dreams you're going to have access to all sorts of new information around your unconscious mind, your psyche, clues about how to live a more fulfilled life. Creative ideas will come to you, and, for some of us, we feel much more connected to the spiritual world through our dreams."

Entrup then breaks down his method into three easy steps.

Step one: "Tell yourself you're going to remember your dreams. This literally means every night when you're in bed, you say 'tonight, I'm going to remember my dreams.'"

Step two: "A dream journal. This journal is just for capturing your dreams. Keep it right by your bed with a pen, and as soon as you wake up, whether in the morning or in the middle of the night, you capture the dreams in the journal while they're fresh."

Step three: "The craziest - but maybe the most effective way - to remember your dreams is to drink a massive amount of water right before you go to bed.

"You're going to have to pee - it's going to pull you out of your dreams while they're fresh, so you capture them in your journal or even speak them aloud while you're peeing."

Now, some of you may be reading those tips and feeling rather cynical, but as I say, if you're going to spend 26 years of your life doing something, you may as well remember what it was that you were doing.

Sweet dreams!
