Model Katrina Scott has been praised for walking a Sports Illustrated runway in the middle of her IVF cycle.

Scott sadly suffered two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy and is currently focusing her efforts on IVF treatment in the hope of sustaining a pregnancy.

"With IVF, I had to have a surgery called hysteroscopy," she told TODAY Parents. "After that, they put you on high levels of estrogen."

Scott told the outlet that the hormone treatment has been a "whirlwind" as she recalled breaking down in tears in front of her husband, Brian.

"I just remember crying and telling him 'The hormones are making me feel really emotional,'" the fitness entrepreneur added.

It was around this time that Sports Illustrated got in touch to ask if she would be interested in a runway walk in Miami Beach during Swim Week.

"I didn't feel ready - [the] amount of swelling and hormones, the amount of things that were happening [with my body], but I said, 'I’m going to agree to this even though this is such a crazy time in my body,'" Scott continued.

Scott modeled a number of swimsuits and looked as striking as ever during her various runway walks. And she has received plenty of praise from fans for taking part in the event in the middle of her treatment.

One person said: "I think it’s a lovey story! Good for her!!! She seems so sweet and genuine and has gone through a lot!! I wish her luck in her fertility path."

Another added: "Models are expected to be 'perfect' and she wasn’t.. regardless of her job or anything.. she committed and followed through.. yes women doing IVF work and live normal lives.. she was sharing her experience."

While a third shared: "She looks great (honestly, what mom wouldn’t kill to look like her)."

Scott, who has a two-year-old daughter named Isabelle, told the publication that she had previously felt the need to adhere to rigid body standards laid out for women.

She also shared her gratitude towards Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor MJ Day for allowing women to feel confident in their own skin.

The model recalled: "She said, 'Go out there, have fun, and be yourself'. The more that some people try to control, the more we doubt ourselves. If MJ sat there and told me to walk or look a certain or prepare a certain way, I would have overthought everything."
