A mom-of-three has revealed that she spent £8,000 ($10,800) on herself this Christmas while getting her three children absolutely nothing.
Carla Bellucci, 38, from Hertfordshire, England, decided to treat herself this Christmas to new veneers, a touch-up of Botox and fillers, manicures, facials, new clothes, and shoes - all while her children will get nothing.
Bellucci says that her children are slamming doors as a result of her decision, but it doesn't bother her.
Instead, she is seeing this Christmas as a great opportunity to teach her three children - Tanisha, 15, Jayden, 13, and Jermaine, 18 - a life lesson.
As per The Sun, Carla tells Fabulous magazine: "I don't care if people call me spoilt or selfish. I know I deserve my £8,000 ($10,800) spending spree.
"Spoiling kids at Christmas is wrong. I think parents who spoil their kids this year are hypocrites.
"I am a brilliant mom and am using Covid Christmas as a life lesson.
"I want my kids to be social media stars and withholding gifts this year will teach them to make money for themselves.
Bellucci adds that the stress of lockdown led to her realizing that she needs to treat herself, and after years of putting the children first, she says "it's mommy time now".
Carla, who is a single mom, believes that women who don't put themselves first have a higher chance of their partners cheating on them.
She says: "I think moms who spoil their kids and don’t spend money on themselves normally let themselves go.
"That's why they end up divorced and their fellas stray. No one wants a scummy mummy, you have to work at looking good, and moms who spoil their kids don't.
"That won't happen to me."
Despite Carla's spending spree creating tension between her and her children, she is standing by her decision not to buy them any Christmas presents this year.
She adds: "Tanisha's told me I'm spoilt and Jayden's not talking to me."
Carla's children had requested Nike Air Force Trainers, new laptops, new phones, clothes, and Xboxes, however, she has said that they will be lucky to get a card and should be using the holiday as an opportunity to spoil her instead.
The mom-of-three added that while she homeschools all of her children, she does not teach them the conventional curriculum and is instead teaching them how to be Instagram and TikTok influencers.
