Any parent knows that getting kids toilet trained is no mean feat... but getting them to keep the toilet clean is a whole other matter.
No matter how much you beg, cajole, praise, or plead, kids just can't seem to be motivated to keep things tidy, and most parents have had the experience of going into their bathroom after their child has visited it, only to be met with a horrendous mess.
Take a look at Cathy's genius hack in the video below:

But now one ingenious mom out there has ended up going viral on TikTok this month, after sharing a clever parenting hack she came up with to get her sons to lift up the toilet seat after using it.
According to an article from The Daily Mirror, the hack in question stems from a TikTok user by the name of Cathy.
Cathy took to the video-sharing social media platform to share a video of herself shrewdly taping a £20 banknote to the underside of the toilet set, to better incentivize her sons into lifting it up to check for the cash.

Cathy also added a caption to the video which read: "When you live in a house of boys and they all claim to lift the seat!! Lets see. [sic]"
It seems as though plenty of other parents really appreciated Cathy's ingenious idea, and the clip currently boasts over 299,000 likes and over 500 shares as of the time of writing.
A number of other social media users also took to the comments of her video to heap praise upon her. For example, one person wrote: "Excellent idea! I need to do this since I live in a house of boys."
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "My husband is well trained, lifts seat and puts back down.. even sits for a treat [...] my boy still sits on [the potty] so got that to come."
Cathy has been uploading a ton of other TikTok videos onto her channel, most of them all about her experiences as a mother. So if you want to check out more great content from her, why not follow her? I have a feeling she might have some more hacks to share with us.
