A mother has sparked debate after revealing she gets her child dressed for school the night before rather than in the morning.

Anyone with a child knows that getting the little darlings dressed and out of the door can be a pretty difficult feat. From not being able to find their shoes to just dawdling and not wanting to get those wriggly arms and legs into their sleeves and trousers, it can take quite a long time to get them ready for school each morning.

So wouldn't it be easier to just skip that step and go straight from bed to the door? (Well, via some breakfast of course).

Content creator Ms Rachel has revealed she puts her child to sleep in his uniform each night so she can do just that - and the reaction has been mixed to say the least.

Ms Rachel took to TikTok to share the unique parenting hack she'd implemented with her 3.5 million followers, admitting: "I dress my little boy for school at night.

"We put on a nice new shirt, sweatpants, super comfy - great for jammies - and then when he wakes up, we just throw on sneakers."

She added that "someday" she will teach her son that he needs to wake up earlier and get changed for school, explaining: "That will be a very good thing to teach, but I can't do that right now, and that's OK."

Reassuring other parents who face similar struggles getting their kids to school on time, she concluded her video by saying: "I'm doing my best and so are you, and I love you."

The video, which has racked up over nine million views so far, has also attracted over 18,000 comments as people discussed whether they thought it was genius or a horrible idea.

Some commented: "NA Ms Rachel you wrong for this…a nice bath wakes you up," and: "So he don't bathe? Where I'm from our kids bathe morning and night."

One joked: "Tell me something that feels illegal but isn’t," while another added: "But then it’s all creased and sweaty. Takes 5 mins to get them dressed."

Others were definitely on team Ms Rachel, writing: "It’s okay, you do whatever you want, you’re raising millions of kids."

Another wrote: "ms rachel being so relatable is extremely healing," while someone else said they would be implementing it for their child with additional needs, adding: "I have a nonverbal toddler with autism and I literally never even considered this…I don’t know why. I guess bc it’s not a norm?? Thank you!"

Many people questioned whether her son may get sweaty in his school clothes overnight, or if the clothes he wore to school were crinkled from having been slept in all night.

She took to the comments to clarify, writing: "To answer the questions: he bathes at night, he doesn’t get sweaty at night, if he did, we’d grab new clothes. Ps there’s been no issues with wrinkly clothes."

Anything that makes life with a young child easier is a win in our book.
