A passenger has shared a video of herself crying in a plane toilet after a pastry left her battling sickness and diarrhea for a 15-hour flight.

Content creator Chloë Chapdelaine - who goes by the handle @chloe.chapdelaine on TikTok - lived everyone's worst nightmare as she shared that she was on a 15-hour flight from Dubai to Los Angeles last Monday (June 5) when the drama unfolded.

The 25-year-old revealed that she has celiac disease - which is an intolerance to eating gluten - and made sure to order the gluten-free meal option before boarding the Emirates flight.

However, Chapdelaine said that after eating half a plain croissant she was informed by attendants that it actually wasn't gluten-free, after she had stringently avoided gluten for the past nine years.

Watch Chapdelaine's TikTok below:

The clip dubbed "the worst flight of my life" shows the tearful traveler inside the airplane bathroom explaining what had happened while trying to make herself sick so that she could "mitigate the symptoms" of a reaction to the gluten.

"I'm just trying not to have a panic attack," she continued, adding that her sensitivity to gluten is so strong that even ingesting something cross-contaminated or with "trace amounts" could set her off.

The footage was viewed three million times on the social media platform, and the comment section was flooded with many sympathetic viewers sharing their reactions to Chapdelaine's plight.

One person wrote: "People downplaying celiac disease don’t get it. Wish I could hug you, girly. Hope you’re managing okay. I would have done the exact same thing."

Another person said: "I’m so sorry, I really get the panic attack part, I’ve got celiac disease as well. You should contact them and tell them about this!"

A third commented: "I was once given an apple as my gluten-free meal on an 11-hour flight. People think gluten-free is something we do for fun," while a fourth remarked: "I’m sorry this happened to you, I have been gluten-free for 8 years now and this has happened to me after checking & asking. This is not your fault."

According to The New York Post, Emirates Airlines issued a statement after the TikToker's video went viral.

"We are disappointed to hear Ms. Chapdelaine’s complaint," a spokesperson told the publication in an email. "Emirates aims to cater to all passenger-specific needs by offering a number of special meals that cover as many medical, dietary, and religious requirements as possible. The safety and health of our customers is taken very seriously."
