Vogue has been slammed on social media after revealing the front cover for its upcoming February edition, which features the US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

Despite being prominently featured on the upcoming front cover, the photo choice for the soon-to-be first Madam Vice President certainly isn't winning any votes.

Posing in front of pink and green drapes (the colors of Harris' Howard University sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha), the 56-year-old can be seen smiling as she poses with her arms folded while wearing a brown Donald Deal jacket, black jeans, and black Converse sneakers.

But many people across social media feel the fashion bible has done Harris a disservice.

Sharing the upcoming front cover with their 30.3 million Instagram followers, Vogue accompanied the image with the caption: "Vice President-elect @kamalaharris is our February cover star!

"Making history was the first step. Now @kamalaharris has an even more monumental task: to help heal a fractured America—and lead it out of crisis."

However, people were quick to take to the post's comments section to call-out Vogue over pretty much everything in the image.

One person typed: "This looks like a photo I would’ve taken in 9th grade this is terrible".

Another added: "For the First Female Vice President of the United States, I expect more on the cover of Vogue".

A third wrote: "Yikes that outfit. Come on Vogue".

One person questioned: "Is this outtake? Give Kamala the respect & cover she deserves. Please do better."

Additionally, writer and speaker Wajahat Ali tweeted: "I'll shoot shots of VP Kamala Harris for free using my Samsung and I'm 100-percent confident it'll turn out better than this Vogue cover."

Other's described the cover as "disrespectful" and "horrendous":

Per the New York Post, reporter Yashar Ali has since taken to Twitter to reveal that "a source" has since stated that the cover photo was not the one Harris' team had expected to be used.

"In the cover that they expected, Vice President-elect Harris was wearing a powder blue suit. That was the cover that the Vice President-elect’s team and the Vogue team, including [editor in chief] Anna Wintour, mutually agreed upon," Ali tweeted.

Instead, the image of Harris in a blue suit (below) will instead be used for the magazine's digital edition.

Both covers were shot by Tyler Mitchell - the 26-year-old photographer who received praise for his sensational September 2018 Vogue cover featuring Beyoncé.
