Two three-year-olds who battled cancer together have reunited for the first time since both entering remission.
As reported by ABC News, preschoolers Mack Porter and Payson Altice first met earlier this year at Phoenix Children’s Hospital where they were both being treated for cancer.
However, after an emotional battle, both youngsters are now in remission, and were able to see each other for the first time in three weeks.
On July 21, Mack greeted Payson with a bunch of flowers, as the pair saw each other once again. The kids then shared an adorable hug.
Footage captured by their parents also shows them dancing together, clearly happy to once again be in each other's company.
Speaking about their reunion to World News Tonight, their families described it as "unforgettable".
Mack’s mother, Danielle Porter, told World News Tonight: "That was a blessing to just watch our children be children."
Danielle also told TODAY Parents that Mack's first question every morning the kids were apart was: "When can I play with Payson?"
The young boy even spent most of the morning before their reunion picking out toys he thought Payson would love to play with.
Tracey Altice, mother to Payson, spoke about how people can learn a lot from children and the way they handle difficult times.
"During these scary and hard times," she said. "No matter what, just look to the children because they’ll lead the way."
TODAY also reports that Mack was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) back in January, and met Payson at the hospital while she was battling B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The pair first bonded over their love for Peppa Pig, and soon after, Payson was introducing Mack to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Both of the children will be starting preschool in the fall.
Reacting to the adorable footage on Facebook, one person wrote: "Just when you start to believe there is no hope left, a couple of kids make you believe that there is."
A second added: "This made me tear up! Those kids are so cute and have a special bond, would be so cute if they stay connected and end up a couple years from now."
Like many other people on social media, we wish Mack and Payson the very best in their continued recovery.
