A person's eyes are the focal point of their face, and while most of our eyes look unique in one way or another, few of us have eyes quite as unique as this mom and son duo.

Elizabeth Tyler, 35, and her one-year-old son Liam Mexus, have a rare condition known as heterochromia iridium, which means that they have two different eye colors within each of their irises.

As a result, they have blue and brown swirls within their eyes, making this gorgeous pair look even more stunning than they already would.

It's no wonder then that they have amassed an impressive 12.8K followers on Elizabeth's Instagram account, where she shares snippets of her life with her five children.

However, their eyes aren't exactly the same, and Elizabeth has blue and brown in both of her eyes, whereas Liam has one pure blue eye and one that is both blue and brown.

Heterochromia iridium runs in Elizabeth's family and her father and siblings also have the unique eye condition.

Elizabeth gets a lot of questions from curious followers on social media about her and her son's eyes, and she's always happy to answer them.

As per WebMD, heterochromia is when a person has different colored eyes (David Bowie is a famous example, although his was caused by a fight as a teenager).

"Most of the time, it doesn't cause any problems," the website reports. "It's often just a quirk caused by genes passed down from your parents or by something that happened when your eyes were forming. In rare cases, it can be a symptom of a medical condition. Heterochromia is common in some animals but rare in humans. It affects fewer than 200,000 people in the United States."So there you have it! If I was a betting person, I would imagine that Elizabeth and Liam have more than a few modeling gigs lined up in the future!
