A couple from the UK, Katey, 26, and Dan, 25, have shared their story about inviting a bridesmaid into their wedding night celebration, revealing that they allowed one of Katey’s close friends to join them in a threesome.
The couple, who married in Torquay, Devon in September, were featured on Truly's Love Don't Judge series, known for spotlighting unconventional relationships.
Katey explained how they decided to invite one of her bridesmaids into their bedroom as part of exploring her bisexuality. "We ended up taking one of my girlfriends up to our bedroom. We had some drinks and ended up having a threesome with her and it was really fun. She's one of my best friends so it was very comfortable," she said on the YouTube show.
Dan added: "To do it on such a special day just makes it so memorable."
While the couple’s bond was strengthened by their open relationship, their family’s reaction was less supportive. Katey explained that their family found the idea "disgusting" and disapproved of the couple’s decision to invite others into the bedroom.
The family’s disapproval resulted in a strained relationship, with some members choosing not to attend the wedding. Despite this, Katey expressed her happiness in being surrounded by friends who accepted her and Dan for who they are.
The couple’s open relationship was not an easy journey. Initially, both struggled with feelings of jealousy, but they eventually found ways to embrace their open lifestyle. "The jealousy is kind of part of it, it makes things more exciting," Dan said.
Katey and Dan also reconnected with Kirsty and Tom, a couple they met earlier this year when they appeared on Channel 4’s Open House: The Great Sex Experiment. Like Katey and Dan, Kirsty and Tom also invite others into their relationship.
Tom, reflecting on the couple’s shared lifestyle, said: "It's just a normal friendship, like any other friendship - even though we share wives and stuff."
Tom responded to critics of their lifestyle with an analogy: "If you enjoy a bar of chocolate, are you just going to have one bar of chocolate your whole life and that is it?"
Katey’s openness about her bisexuality and her unconventional wedding night choice has sparked intense conversations about non-traditional relationships. Despite the criticism, the couple is proud of their choices and the unique bond they share.
