TikTok creator Izzy Trimborn recently took to social media with a video that highlights a very real concern: What happens when your partner’s last name is too embarrassing to adopt?

Trimborn, who is engaged to her fiancé James, shared a post that quickly went viral with more than 2.4 million views.

... And let's just say that her fiancé's last name wouldn't pair too well with her first name.

The Hilarious Name Revealed On TikTok

The video featured Izzy answering the question: "Aren’t you excited to take his last name?" to which she jokingly responded, “Not really."

The reason is that her partner, James, has a surname that would result in an X-rated phrase.

You see, his surname is Inyet.

If the penny hasn't dropped yet, just repeat the name "Izzy Inyet" before it starts to make sense.

Her humorous take quickly resonated with TikTok users, and the clip was flooded with comments from people who found the name combination absolutely hilarious.

One person wrote: "I’m sorry, but this is brilliant, the best one yet."

Another chimed in: "You won the trend hands down."

Several others shared their amusement, with one viewer admitting: "I’ve just thrown myself off my bed with laughter."

The video quickly became a sensation, with many imagining all the awkward moments Izzy might face in public when someone calls out "Izzy Inyet" at a coffee shop or during a doctor’s visit.

The Trend Grows: Other Hilarious Name Combinations

Izzy’s viral moment was just the tip of the iceberg as other TikTok users jumped on the trend, sharing their own potential name combinations that could be equally awkward.

Many of these name mashups provided endless entertainment for viewers, who found humor in the unintentional innuendos and absurd combinations.

One user named Hannah Rose revealed that if she took her boyfriend’s last name, her full name would be Hannah Rose Hiscock, a combination that, unsurprisingly, had fans in stitches.

Another TikTok user, Jo, shared that her new name would be Jo Kerr, sounding remarkably like "Joker".

Meanwhile, Sophie confessed that taking her partner’s surname would lead her to become Sophie Brophy - a name too funny to ignore.

Then there was Millie Waters, who shared that if she married her boyfriend Harvey Willy, her name would become Millie Willy.

The thought of introducing herself as “Millie Willy” was enough to make viewers imagine awkward social scenarios, such as booking a restaurant reservation or attending a job interview.

One user quipped: "Imagine calling a restaurant to book a table and they just hang up because they think 'Millie Willy' is a prank."

Another comment added: "Imagine going for a job interview, 'What’s your name?' 'Millie Willy.' 'Please leave.'"

However, these women don't need to adopt their partners names if they don't want to.

A YouGov poll in the UK revealed that only 35% of women aged 18 to 34 plan to adopt their husband’s surname, showing a marked decline in the tradition among younger women.

The same poll found that, while 51% of women overall preferred the traditional surname change, only 27% of men were open to taking their wife’s surname, with many Britons showing indifference towards this role reversal.

Meanwhile, the practice of double-barrelled surnames remains relatively rare, with only 6% of people opting for this compromise.
