Carmen Andrade - one half of the conjoined twin duo known for their candid and viral videos about life together - has quietly tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Daniel McCormack.
The couple eloped in October during an intimate ceremony held on Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut, surrounded by close family members.
“We eloped in October with our families,” Carmen confirmed during an interview with TODAY on Thursday.
Carmen, who is the right-sided twin alongside her sister Lupita, wore a striking emerald green gown adorned with sparkly sequins for the occasion, a bold, non-traditional choice she says she has no regrets about.
“I did not wear white,” she said. “Don’t regret it. I don’t like white. That’s not my thing.”
McCormack, 28, complemented her look in a dark suit paired with an emerald green bow tie and a sunflower boutonniere, matching Carmen’s bouquet. The ceremony also marked the couple’s fifth anniversary together.
Last month, Carmen shared the big news in a YouTube video titled “Overdue Update!”
“We should probably also address something else pretty big,” she said toward the end of the clip before holding up her hand to show off her wedding ring. “I did get married.”
Lupita, sitting beside her, quickly added with a laugh: “I did not.”
The sisters made it clear that the marriage involved only Carmen. Lupita, who identifies as asexual and aromantic, reiterated that she has no desire to marry. “I don’t want to get married,” she said simply.
Carmen and Daniel first met on the dating app Hinge in October 2020, PEOPLE detailed. She recalled being flooded with messages from men with fetishes, but Daniel stood out immediately.
“I knew right off the bat that Daniel was different from the others, because he didn’t lead with a question about my condition,” Carmen said. “I have social anxiety and have canceled dates last minute before, but I felt calm on the way to meet him.”
In a 2022 interview with Jubilee, Carmen explained that their relationship is deeply rooted in emotional intimacy and friendship. She also noted that they are not sexually active.
"I was obviously going to be transparent about everything. It was a learning process for everybody - we obviously had to have a discussion on what boundaries are okay and what isn't," Carmen said at the time.
"Daniel and my sister get along really well," Carmen said. "It’s funny because I stay up later than Lupita, but when Daniel sleeps over, I fall asleep quickly — and he stays up talking with her."
Carmen and Lupita, now 23, were born in Mexico and raised in Connecticut. They share a pelvis, reproductive system, liver, and bloodstream, but each has her own heart and stomach, according to the Daily Mail. They control one leg each, a skill that took them 17 years to fully coordinate.
The pair gained wider attention after appearing in the 2020 TLC documentary Conjoined Twins: Inseparable, which followed their journey toward independence as they prepared for college life.
In the recent YouTube update, Carmen also shared that she is no longer pursuing a degree in veterinary technology and is instead focusing on their growing YouTube presence, including comedic sketches written by Lupita.
With honesty, humor, and a strong bond, the twins continue to share their extraordinary lives with a growing audience. Congratulations to Carmen and Dan!
