An escort has spoken out to reveal why she thinks a lot of men pay for her services - as dating gets ever more expensive.

The ongoing cost of living crisis has hit most people hard, and many have been cutting down their spending on anything but the essentials.

And while you may assume using professional sex workers may come under that umbrella, apparently the opposite is the case.

One escort has revealed that business has been booming as men claim that paying for sex i actually cheaper than having a girlfriend.

Escort Katija Cortez, 28, claims that many of her clients have told her it's cheaper for them to meet with her than it is to traditionally date a woman.

She told News.com.au: "They tell me that once you add up wining and dining over multiple dates, gifts, and then also the cost of their time that it takes to do all of this - it all adds up.

"When you see a sex worker, you can see her as often or as little as suits your schedule.

"I doubt that many girls that these men could date traditionally would be happy seeing their man for only one scheduled hour a week."

She revealed that it also had the added benefit of taking up little of their time, meaning the men she sees were able to work longer hours and make more money without the guilt of neglecting a partner at home, and still fit seeing her into their busy schedules.

Katija explained: "Men these days are all about working smarter, not harder. Relationships are hard work. Whereas for less hassle and apparently less money, you can get all the same things you get out of a relationship with a sex worker, just without all of the commitment."

In what may be rather depressing news for the hopeless romantics out there, she added that men "don't think how women think", and have done a "cost-benefit analysis" on which works out as better value, and are finding that "seeing an escort turns out to be a much more financially viable decision."

Katija added: "Almost every single one of my clients are doing this cost-benefit analysis and tell me that seeing me is exponentially more beneficial to them, their time and money, than meeting a girl at a club."

She also believes that many of the men who use her services have little time to invest in dating because of their demanding careers as "CEOs, entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, and financiers," so do not want the distraction of a conventional relationship.

Finding 'the one' can be hard enough at the best of times, and online dating can be a minefield of wasted evenings meeting people you discover you have little interest in spending time with.

She also believes this has had an impact on her own business booming, adding: "People are just too busy working, they’re too busy trying to make money and guys are just over dating."
