A man's attempt at fat-shaming a woman on Tinder has backfired spectacularly after she shared his messages online.

Despite being created to help people find love, dating apps can often lead to both men and women receiving unwanted and inappropriate messages. These can stem from mildly cretinous chat-up lines to unsolicited d*** pics and vile insults.

However, when dance teacher Emily Langston found herself on the receiving end of one man's disgusting comments, she decided to take action.

After matching with a guy called Matt on Tinder, Langston, from Essex in England, probably knew she hadn't found "the one" when he opened with the cheesy chat-up line: "I'm jealous of your heart. It's pumping inside you and I'm not".

As you've already figured out, Matt was not the creative inspiration behind all those romantic Disney movies we watched as kids.

Unable to properly comprehend the disastrous chat-up line, Emily responded by saying: "Well that was different".

Sadly, Matt's ego was so frail that he couldn't handle the fact his chat-up line had gone down like lead balloon and unjustifiably responded by calling Emily a "s**g".

You'd think that would have been the end of this love story, but - for some unknown reason - Matt was not deterred and blamed the vile insult on his "teddy".

Matt then asked for clarification on who Emily was out of a picture of her friendship group, and when she responded saying that she was the one with blue hair, the lothario asked: "What the fat one [sic]".

When an unimpressed Emily feigned intrigue and called Matt "a delight", he responded by saying: "Bet you like angel delight you fat c***".

(Just in case you didn't know, Angel Delight is a mousse-like dessert that is much nicer than a conversation with Matt.)

After enduring the disgusting tirade, Emily decided to take revenge and share screenshots of Matt's messages to Twitter, along with the caption: "Get yourself a boy off Tinder who talks to you like this. Oh Matt, you're cancelled x"

The post soon went viral, amassing over 5,000 retweets and 37,000 'likes', with many Twitter users being quick to criticize Matt:

Some guys even felt the need to apologize on behalf of all men:

Whereas others felt the need to apologize for all Matts:

Some Twitter users were quick to jump to Emily's defense:

And others were quick to jump to the defense of Angel Delight:

There's absolutely no need for this sort of behavior on any social media platform. But at least Emily has been able to spare somebody else the torment of having to endure another of Matt's chat-up lines.
