Husband brings date nights to pregnant wife's hospital window as she awaits birth
A doting husband has warmed the hearts of millions by bringing dates nights to his pregnant wife as she awaits the birth of their son at a Chicago hospital.
However, due to the fact that Robert Conlin, 45 is not allowed to physically be with his wife due to the hospital's COVID-19 restrictions, once a week he has been setting up a table decorated with flowers and candles.
This way, Robert's wife, 41-year-old Shona Moeller - who is 28-week pregnant - can still enjoy date nights with her husband, even though he's four floors down and sitting outside of the building.

As reported by ABC News, Robert started bringing date nights to wife Shona in an attempt to make things feel a little normal amid a very abnormal time.
He orders takeout from the couple's favorite restaurant and has Moeller's meal brought to her hospital room. Conlin then enjoys his entree sitting at a table outside, as the two FaceTime with each other while they eat.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Conlin said:
"I think it’s a little glimpse of some normalcy. We ask each other on dates all the time still and the first time I came [to the hospital] as a date night, I asked her the same thing, 'Do you want to go on a dinner date with me?'
"She thought we were just going to do it over FaceTime so when I showed up, she was really surprised."
Shona, a high school teacher and part-time life coach, revealed how she "lost her breath" when she first looked out of her window and saw that her husband had arranged for them to have a very socially-distanced date night.

"In this time where I’m by myself, every gesture feels so monumental and lovely and sweet," she said. "It felt like he had traveled the world to come see me because it meant so much."

Moeller had been experiencing a normal pregnancy up until she hit the 20-week mark, when her water broke prematurely.

She spent three weeks on bed rest at home trying to not go into labor and then was admitted to AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center in Hinsdale, Illinois, when she reached 23 weeks of pregnancy.
Doctors want to prevent Shona from giving birth for as long as possible in order to increase the odds that her son - whom she and Robert plan on naming Forest - is born healthy.

Robert told GMA: "I remember the day before she went into the hospital and we were both just sobbing and I was thinking how could Shona possibly be going through this without me by her side.
"It was really sad and scary but we just focused on the baby and tried to make the best of the situation.
"Shona has been really great with sending pictures and Forest gets monitored a few times a day and she calls me every time it happens so I’m able to hear his heartbeat."
In some pictures, Conlin can be seen holding signs outside the window that read "Proud Papa" and "Protect our Forest".

This couple really do have the most incredible attitude, and we wish them all the best with the rest of their pregnancy.
