Although the coronavirus pandemic has separated lovers all over the world, others have found that it has brought them closer together. From organising Zoom dates to chatting with long-distance hopefuls on dating apps, love always has a way of coming around, even when you'd least expect it!
This was certainly the case for Karla and Ben. The couple took part in VT's collaboration with M&S Food to show us that "Love Always Wins", even in a global pandemic.
As Ben explains, the pair had been dating prior to the first national lockdown, but, unfortunately, it didn't work out.
When the 'Stay at Home' order was announced, Karla reached out to Ben, and invited him to ride out quarantine with her in Bournemouth. "We thought it would possibly last a couple of weeks at most, but we all know how that turned out," Ben chuckles. Seven months later, and the pair are happy in the honeymoon period. "What could have been a pretty awful year in lockdown, ended up being our lockdown in love," Ben explains of his lockdown love affair.

So, to show his appreciation for a year that may have been unprecedented, but certainly not lacking in romance, Ben wanted to really wow Karla. While he knew that her favourite flowers were roses, he decided to go the extra mile and purchase a beautiful bouquet from M&S. "This Valentine's I figured let's do something really special for Karla because she really deserves it," he said.
Naturally, Karla adored her Valentine's surprise. And the fact that her beau splashed out on an extra special bunch of flowers wasn't missed by her. "Oh wow," she exclaimed, before giving Ben a big kiss - of course, he looked pleased as punch!
