A man gearing up for his wedding made a decision that left a few guests unhappy, branding him "mean".

Getting married is a huge occasion in anyones life, and planning the big day can be a huge stress.

Despite it being a day about the happy couple, guests need to be considered and it can quickly become very costly.

So some people cut down on costs with cheaper catering, not having an open bar or having a cheaper venue.

However, sometimes it isn't about the money and people have to make cuts simply because of their dream venue.

Matt Zukowski found fame on Love Island Australia and is excited to tie the knot with Tammy Hembrow, a fitness influencer.

The couple is set to tie the knot in Byron Bay soon, but the lead-up to the wedding has sparked some controversy.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Where’s Your Head At, Zukowski confessed to having to cut down the number of guests, citing limited space at their wedding venue.

Among those who didn’t make the final list were the partners of some of his friends.

Zukowski revealed to his co-host, Anna McEvoy, that he initially invited several of his friends’ girlfriends before later rescinding their invitations.

“I invited a lot of my mates’ girlfriends that I know and (who) I’ve known for years,” Zukowski said.

“And I had to send (my mates) a message saying, ‘Hey, I’ve had to lean up the list, I have to uninvite them. Sorry.’”

McEvoy was quick to react, saying: "Dude, that's pretty mean.”

Zukowski acknowledged that one friend, in particular, was "pretty upset" by the change. McEvoy added, “I would be mortified” if she received such a message.

“That’s red-hot from you,” McEvoy said.

Zukowski went on to share that one of the uninvited guests’ birthdays happens to fall on the same day as the wedding.

Despite being uninvited, she still plans to travel to Byron Bay, where she’ll "sit in a room" while her partner attends the ceremony.

“There’s nothing I can do. She wasn’t technically invited,” Zukowski explained, leaving McEvoy momentarily speechless.

That's certainly one way to annoy people.

If this has got your attention, what about a man who decided his wedding day was the best time to prank his new wife?

In a now-viral video shared by the TikTok account @viralsnare, known for highlighting practical jokes, a bride became the center of an unflattering prank by her groom.

The footage shows the couple in their wedding attire, seemingly preparing to jump into a pool together - a nod to "taking the plunge" into marriage.

However, just before they were about to leap, the groom stepped back, leaving his bride to fall into the pool alone while still wearing her wedding dress.

Despite being left to swim solo, the bride kept a smile on her face... which many probably wouldn't.

What's a wedding day without a little drama?
