Missing child is found in minutes after parent uses 'looking loudly’ method
A mom was able to find her missing child by using a technique simply called ‘looking loudly’.
That might sound like a very obvious way to go about it, but there’s more to it than that.
This mom used ‘looking loudly’ to get her child back
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare - you turn your back for one second in a public place and notice that your child isn’t there anymore.
The mind races - have they just wandered off, are they somewhere nearby, or has the very worst happened?
Thankfully, it’s usually over in just a few seconds, and the kid turns up once again, but what if that doesn’t happen?
Well, one mom is here to give you the best possible chance.
She remembered hearing about a specific technique online that was just right for the situation.
Krista Piper shared the video back in 2023, and other parents have been queueing up to tell her how great it is.
It’s super simple too, as the name suggests.
Piper and her daughter were out at an indoor play area when she went missing.
Those areas can be a labyrinth, particularly this one, which was ‘huge’.
When her daughter was nowhere to be seen, Piper and her son started calling her name to find her, but then she had a ‘eureka’ moment and tried something she’d heard online.
Looking loudly isn’t just shouting out
She explained: “Right after I started calling her name, a little light bulb went off in my head. I remembered a TikTok I’d seen probably over a year ago.”
Instead of calling ‘Lily’ she started using descriptions of her daughter instead, very loudly.
“I stopped calling out her name. I started yelling, ‘Little girl, pink shirt, pink Minnie Mouse shirt.’ I’m sure people thought that I was a little crazy.”
It makes total sense, because members of the public have no idea who she is, but they could recognize a child by a description.
In the end, Lily turned up about a minute later, as members of the public assisted the search.
After that, she wanted to share the advice with others.
She said: “So if you ever lose your child, or dog, or anything, yell out their description, raise your voice,
“I probably looked like a crazy person, but it got the job done. I found my kid really fast.”
It’s called looking loudly, and it helps get others involved in the search, as well as increasing how specific that search is and giving a proper description.
Other parents were glad to get a useful tip.
“This is wonderful. It’s a great idea,” one said.
“I did this, it works,” another confirmed.
A third added: “That’s genius. You’re such a great mom. Thank you for sharing this.”
Hopefully this can help someone else along the way.
