A pregnant woman has divided opinions online after revealing that she wants to start dating again after splitting from her unborn baby's father.

Posting anonymously under the username 'frabbit' on the parenting site Mumsnet, the 15-weeks pregnant single mom-to-be reveals that "outside of scans and appointments," she no longer talks to the father of her baby.

She adds that although he does want to be involved, "that's as far as things go".

The mom-to-be then asks: "Would it be gross to consider dating?

"Not looking for financial support or a baby daddy, genuinely just missing the support and companionship, maybe even the attention, of a dating partner. Obviously would be taking things slow."

The woman then reveals that she has been talking to a guy and he has asked her out on a date, to which she asks: "If I do go, do I tell him beforehand that I’m pregnant? Or wait to see how the date goes? What's the general consensus?"

Addressing the issue of whether or not she should tell the guy, most people agreed that she should definitely tell him that she is pregnant, with one person writing: "Are you serious? Why wouldn't you tell him?"

Before adding: "I think you need to re-examine your values and priorities."

This sentiment was echoed by several other Mumsnet users, who urged to woman to reconsider dating altogether.

"Honestly, you're about to become a single mom which won't be easy. I'd take this time to concentrate on getting yourself organized mentally and practically. I'm not sure I'd be rushing into the drama of a new dating relationship right now," one person wrote.

Another person also blasted the mom-to-be's priorities, writing: "How is your mind even at the point of dating. You are literally jumping from one man to another. Where does your baby feature in this? You are questioning whether to tell this person- that alone shows your priorities are very wrong. Shocking."

One commenter even branded the mom "selfish", typing: "I think you should have a bit of a think about your priorities OP.

"Bad enough getting accidentally pregnant with someone you are not even on speaking terms with, let alone then immediately trying to get together with someone else that you've never met. It seems extremely selfish and the poor baby is obviously last on the priority list."

One Mumsnet member even wrote: "I’m not convinced it’s a great idea based on how vulnerable pregnancy can make you both physically and mentally.

"Plus COVID and STDs are not great to catch while pregnant."
