Sex experts and social media users have been sharing their best bedroom advice after a viral post on X sparked a huge conversation about which sex positions actually feel better than people generally expect, and which are much more likely to lead to attaining an orgasm.
The discussion began after one user asked: “What’s a sex position that looks basic but actually makes you orgasm way faster than the popular ones?”
Sex educators have previously explained that changing the angle of the pelvis can increase pressure against the G-spot, located along the front wall of the vagina.
TikTok creator and sex educator Sassy Red previously discussed the technique in a viral video that reportedly racked up more than 20 million views before it was deleted.
Explaining why the adjustment can feel more intense for some people, she said: “Putting a pillow underneath simply tilts the pelvis forward, allowing the vaginal canal to straighten, making access to the G-spot easier and allowing the penis/dildo to stimulate the anterior vagina.
“In simple terms, you’re able to hit more of those 8,000 or so nerve endings that live around the vagina.”
However, she stressed that no single method works for everybody.
“If this ‘hack’ works for you, then that’s fantastic, but it might not work for everyone, and you shouldn’t force it to work either,” she explained.
“What feels good for one person may be totally different for another. Just find what works for you and have a hell of a lot of fun in the process.”
She added: “Sex is all about trying different things with a partner who is supportive and open – that’s the best kind of sex! So focus on that, and not what the internet says.”
Doctor and sex expert Olivia Richman has also spoken publicly about techniques that can increase pleasure during sex, particularly by focusing on communication and clitoral stimulation.
Discussing one method she called “angling,” Richman explained that raising the hips slightly can change where penetration makes contact internally.
“You want her hips to raise a little bit so that your either penis or sex toy is hitting the top of her vagina,” she said.
“That’s why angling is a really great position.”
Richman repeatedly stressed the importance of the clitoris when it comes to female pleasure, saying: “Do not forget about the clitoris it is the most important part of sex, period.”
She also highlighted communication as one of the biggest factors in enjoyable sex.
“Do not forget to communicate this,” she said. “Do not forget to say 'hey does this feel good for you, are you enjoying this?'”
According to Richman, techniques involving shallow penetration, rhythmic movement, and combined stimulation can all contribute to increased pleasure depending on personal preference.
But like many others in the online discussion, she emphasized that every person is different — and that experimenting together is often the best way for couples to discover what works for them.
The post quickly exploded, with hundreds of people, many of them women, jumping into the replies to share their experiences and recommendations.
One answer stood out more than any other: a slightly adjusted version of the classic missionary position.
One user wrote: “Missionary with a pillow under the hips: looks basic AF, but she’s seeing stars in under 5 minutes.”
Another agreed, explaining how a simple change completely transformed the experience for them.
“Standard missionary used to bore me to tears until I learned how to tilt my hips just right,” they wrote. “Now it literally takes less than two mins for my entire body to start shaking. Completely game changing.”
The “hack” itself is surprisingly straightforward. By placing a pillow underneath the pelvis, the hips tilt upward slightly, which many say increases stimulation and comfort during penetration.
