When it comes to attraction, the unfortunate reality is that some aspects of your appearance will be a dealbreaker for certain people.

Whether it's due to your height, weight or even your dress sense - someone out there will be silently rejecting you before they've even heard so much as a word come out of your mouth.

The appeal of tattoos, for instance, is entirely subjective - while some people are drawn to those with inkings on their bod, others find them a relationship deal breaker and a total turn-off.

Britain's most tattooed man, however, is branding the women who spurn him for his distinctive appearance as 'shallow', adding that they only want a man with a muscular physique - typical of those seen on hit UK reality dating show Love Island.

Matthew Whelan, who changed his name to King of Ink Land King Body Art The Extreme Ink-ite, claims that women will only sleep with him because they are fascinated by his unique look.

Per the Daily Star, the 39-year-old from Birmingham, England revealed although he has a very active social life, he hasn't had much luck with women. He told the Daily Star: "I have a very active social life. But I haven’t had much luck finding love."

He continued:

"I’ve had about 15 to 20 relationships in my life and have definitely got more attention since I got my tattoos. But since my last relationship ended two years ago I haven’t had anything serious.

"I’m nearly 40 so I would like to settle down and have a family. But at the same time I understand that the way I look might create an issue for some people.

"A lot of women are really shallow and only go for guys with Love Island-type bodies. Then I get other women who are just interested in me because of my tattoos."

Whelan gets either one of two reactions to his tattoos from women - they are either evidently put off by them or intrigued by them.

He even compared people's perceptions of his tattoos to the popular sandwich spread Marmite; you either love them or you hate them.

According to the 39-year-old from Birmingham, England, he has had about 15 to 20 relationships and has received a lot more attention since he got the tattoos.

Whelan hasn't had a serious relationship since his last one ended two years ago, but now that he's approaching 40, he's hoping to settle down and start a family. He just needs to find the right woman, a woman who loves him exactly the way he is - tattoos and all.
