A woman has shared her unconventional approach to maintaining a successful marriage, revealing that she allows her husband to sleep with other women.

Monica, a 37-year-old stay-at-home wife, opened up about her unique relationship in an interview with the YouTube channel Love Don't Judge.

She explained that she and her husband, John, have established an arrangement where he is free to pursue relationships with other women outside their marriage, because she believes it makes him happy.

Monica, who says "98%" of her day revolves around her husband, believes this setup has been key to their six-year marriage.

"I've always had a submissive side since I can remember, and I've always been drawn to assertive and dominant males," she said, adding that John's confidence and guitar playing initially attracted her to him.

In their "traditional marriage," John takes on the role of decision-maker, even choosing Monica's outfits each day.

"It makes me feel more confident and 'hot' knowing that he selected my outfit for the day," Monica explained.

Monica shared that her love language is making her husband feel good by fulfilling her role as a traditional housewife.

"I enjoy being a traditional housewife because that's my love language," she said. "It's not like I'm a hopeless little girl. It's just he's assertive, and I like that in a man."

The couple's dynamic has drawn attention, particularly their arrangement allowing John to sleep with other women, though they insist this is only a "very small part" of their relationship.

John explained his perspective, saying: "It's a luxury I have that probably most guys wish they had, just because of genetic programming. If you look at all the other mammals, how they do it, typically the alpha male gets to bang all the females."

For Monica, the open nature of their marriage doesn't diminish her sense of security.

"I feel like, as a female, I have a different view on sex than a male does. For a guy, it's just a fun thing. I know in my heart that he loves me because he comes home to me and takes really good care of me," she said.

John believes this arrangement contributes to a more relaxed and fulfilling marriage.

"I think it just makes for a much more relaxed relationship because there's nothing in my life that I desire that I can't have. And I think that makes me a better husband," he said.

However, not everyone in Monica’s life is supportive of their unconventional relationship.

She revealed that some of her childhood friends have expressed concerns, telling her that she's "lost [her] dignity as a woman" and warning her against having children.

Monica remains unfazed by the criticism, saying: "I can see how people that don't know us might think, 'oh, that's not healthy,' or 'that's bad,' but I think if you're a good person and you're with someone you really, really love and you're soulmates, it's a whole different thing."

Despite the controversy, Monica is confident in her relationship with John and sees no reason why they won't continue their arrangement for years to come.

"I love my marriage and I love him, and I don't think there's anything stopping us from living like this always," she says.

The couple’s story has sparked a debate about non-traditional relationships, but for Monica and John, the key to their happiness lies in understanding each other's needs and embracing their own unique version of a happy marriage.
