A TikTok content creator who calls herself a "retired psycho" has let her followers in on some of the best ways to tell if your partner is cheating on you.

Over the last few weeks, Margaux Cody has been working on a TikTok series called "Retired Psycho Tips" - of which there are currently 13 entries.

We've narrowed the advice down to four of her best tips...

Tip 1: Check whether they're using a dating app

In this video, Margaux advises her followers to make a fake dating profile on a dating app of their choice. She then tells them to set the maximum distance to one mile and make sure the age range is set as small as possible in order to catch the person they're looking for.

Margaux explained how she herself managed to find one of her ex's dating profiles using this method.

"Now that you have all of this set up, you're ready to meet him," she said. "Go somewhere private and start swiping.

According to Margaux, "If he has been active on the app recently, his profile should appear within seconds or at least within two minutes."

Margaux added: "If he tells you it's an old profile, don't fall for that. This is how I caught my ex."

Tip 2: Check their most-recently-used emojis

A good way of working out what kind of people your boyfriend has been speaking to, according to Margaux, is by checking their most recent emojis.

"I have personally used this in the past as a first step to confirm or deny any of my suspicions before conducting a full-scale investigation," she said.

Margaux suggests looking up something on his phone and checking the keyboard.

She said: "If you see certain suggestive emojis that he doesn't really send to you, then he's sending them to someone else."

Margaux says the most "incriminating" emojis are kissy faces, peaches, eggplants, fire, and waterdrops.

Tip 3: Duplicate their Instagram account

"You're going to make a fake account and you're going to follow everyone that he follows," Margaux says. "You're going to duplicate his account and this will help you see exactly what he sees."

"You will see all the Stories he gets to watch, the pictures that he has a chance to like, and my favorite - you get to see mutuals."

She recalled: "One time one of my exes followed this girl and I was really [suspicious], so I asked how he knew her. He was like, 'we have mutuals'. And I was like, 'no you don't!'"

Tip 4: Make a fake account to follow a private account

If your partner has followed a girl and you suspect something may be going on between the two of them, you might be tempted to follow the individual.

But if their profile is private, you can make a spam account that doesn't reveal your real identity - an account they're more likely to follow.

"The key is to make seemingly harmless accounts like this iPhone giveaway - put in fake pictures, a fake bio, and add a fake link," Margaux says. "My personal favorite is this [hiking] one as it literally gets any VSCO girl and they actually follow back."

Of course, it's worth mentioning that communication is key to any successful relationship.
