Nick Yardy, whose real name is Nicholas Hunter, left his followers stunned after he announced that he was dating fellow influencer Jade and her mother, Dani - and claimed that both women were pregnant.
As expected, the internet had plenty to say, with reactions ranging from curiosity to outright disgust. While some questioned the legitimacy of the claim, others condemned the situation entirely.
However, as is often the case with most viral internet stories, not everything is real. The 29-year-old admitted during an interview with Daily Mail that the pregnancy claim was nothing more than an elaborate stunt.
“There are no babies. It's just, like, a skit. It's not actually real,” he explained. “People that follow me, they're just looking for entertainment, and I don't think they really [believe it].”
But while the pregnancy was fake, the content creator insists that his relationship with both Jade and Dani is very much real.
“They are actually mother and daughter, and our involvement with each other is real,” he confirmed. “It’s just that they’re not actually pregnant. At least not yet.”
Regardless of whether people believed the pregnancy claim, the unconventional relationship itself has been widely condemned.
"What the hell is wrong with people?" one person questioned, while another slammed: “This is just flat out disgusting omfg bring back shame."
A third commented: “So either it's true and they are disgusting individuals. Or it's a fake story for OF, and they are still disgusting individuals," and a fourth added: “Nothing to brag about, the whole thing is disgusting.”
Meanwhile, others viewed the situation as a clear-cut case of internet clout-chasing. One user summed it up: “Ah, the tangled web of internet clout-chasing, don’t you see? A man claims he pulled off the biological equivalent of a reality TV finale, and yet - like all things in the age of viral deception - the timeline doesn’t quite add up.
“One month prior, no baby bumps. Now, an explosive double pregnancy? Sounds like someone’s fishing for engagement, you know?" they continued. “The real play here is obvious: shock value.
"Nothing lures people into the digital abyss of curiosity quite like an absurd story wrapped in scandal. And, of course, if there’s an OF link involved, the motivations become clearer than a glass-bottom boat. Subscription bait, plain and simple," they concluded.
