A school teacher has slammed social media users who claimed her work-wear outfits showing off her curves are "inappropriate".
The woman, who goes by the handle @toyboxdollz on Instagram, shares photos of her life as an art teacher, including artworks and classroom snaps.
In some of her posts, she is seen wearing figure-hugging tops to accentuate her body and high-waisted pants to show her hourglass curves.
However, not everyone seems to agree with her outfit choices, with many commenting on her Instagram page with complaints and questions about the appropriateness of her clothes.
Check out her posts below:Some parents have criticized the teacher for being "inappropriate" for taking pictures in the classroom "with an intention for getting likes".
Other users have jumped to her defense, urging people to leave the teacher alone and saying her outfits are perfectly suitable for a classroom.
One user wrote: "All the people body shaming you need to sit down, you’re beautiful."
Another shared: "What does it matter what a teacher's body looks like? What matters is if she's a good teacher and the children learn from her. Y'all should keep your gutter opinions to yourselves."
The teacher has since responded to the hate comments in a 14-minute video, posted on August 25, saying: "I teach babies, and there are no haters in the classroom thinking of that."
"I’m a really, really good teacher," she continued. "I had students emailing me during the summer asking me for homework. They love art. I love teaching art. I love working with children to create art.”
"It is mind-boggling that people are criticizing my physical appearance," she continued, adding, "Some of the mothers at my school are really my biggest supporters, they write to thank me for teaching at the school."
After posting the video, many users on the platform have sent their praise to the teacher, applauding her for displaying resilience in dealing with the negativity.
One user wrote: "She could have been negative and carelessly talking to defend herself but she didn't! Kudos to you for staying positive and appreciate your supporters! And THANK YOU for your service and dedication to the children."
While another commented: "You have always been a great person with a wonderful heart!! Don’t allow any negativity to affect any of the positive things you have going on. Wishing you all the best and many blessings."
In a different video posted on August 28, the teacher wrote a caption calling out people for body shaming, adding there was a shortage of teachers.
"Trying to body shame me because I am curvaceous is STILL discrimination!!! Teachers are quitting left and right every day all day! The shortage of educators going on right now is insane!" she said.
"Teachers no longer want to teach, they rather work online, from home, even take a retail job over teaching because it's less agitating work and pays more than we get paid as teachers," she added.
