Viewers have vowed to tip less after a waitress revealed how much she made while working a three-hour shift.

Tipping culture has become one hell of a hot topic on social media with many claiming that the practice, especially in the United States, has now gotten out of hand.

While it may be optional, tipping makes up a large part of service workers' salaries in America. A 15-20% tip is deemed standard, and anything under 20% is often seen as a "bad" tip.

Now, in today's episode, many users of the social media platform believe they may have been tipping servers too much after a Texas Roadhouse waitress disclosed how much she made while working a three-hour shift.

Watch the TikTok below:

In the clip, the server named Amanda - who goes by the handle @amanda4xx - shows several on-screen receipts and the total tip amount she got per table.

"Let’s see what I make in a three-hour shift at Texas Roadhouse," she says. "So, my first table left me $12 on $48, and then $20 on $101, $9 at $46," she continues, stating at the end that she made $150.14 in tips alone. Added to her hourly wage, this came to an outstanding $59 an hour.

She added in the caption of the video - which amassed 2.5 million views - that the restaurant was "slow" that day, suggesting that her hourly rate for that duration could be higher on any other day.

Numerous viewers rushed to the comment section to express their shock at how much Amanda claims she made in that short period of time. They declared that moving forward, they will lower the amount they tip.

One person wrote: "And just like that my 15% tip just turned into a 5% tip. Thank you," and another said: "I'm starting to see I tip too much."

A third commented: "I need to lower my tips. Thanks for sharing," while a fourth person quipped: "I’m tipping two bucks next time."

One user asked Amanda where the diner's location was to be pulling that kind of money, writing: "What Texas Roadhouse you working at cause I had a $200 check and I got tipped $5."

The TikToker responded that despite stating in the video that she worked on a "slow day," it ended up being a "good shift" which is why she was able to walk away with such an impressive payout.

Amanda was clearly unbothered by the backlash towards her TikTok as she posted a follow-up video in which she continued to shock viewers on the platform.

This time, she made an exceptional $164.94 in tips throughout a four-hour shift, averaging $50 an hour. She also shared that her hourly pay was $36.
