A woman's prank on her brother has left social media divided, with some people questioning how harmless her practical joke really was.
The prank in question was the subject of a video shared by TikTok user Dara Roberts - who uses the handle @dararobertss on the social media platform. In the clip, she reveals that she and her family bought some dissolving swimshorts and gave them to her brother Seth while on vacation.
The video begins with the family all getting ready for a swim at the beach, with an unsuspecting Seth wearing the shorts. It then cuts the Seth racing some other family members into the sea, before - as predicted - his shorts start to dissolve.
At first, Seth believes he's just ripped his shorts while running, before he quickly realizes he's been left in a rather embarrassing situation. The video ends with him asking his siblings to grab him some other shorts or a towel, promising to stay in the sea until he does.
Check out the prank unfold below:Let's face it, it's a classic prank that I'm sure many of us would have found hilarious if we were there - and it's the sort of thing anybody with siblings could probably relate to.
However, after amassing over 29 million views in a month, it's clear from the comments section that not everybody found the prank harmless.
"Something about this don't sit right with me," one person wrote, while others described the practical joke as "violating" and "humiliating".
Others queried whether the joke would be funny if the gender roles were reversed.
But there were many people in the comments section who disagreed, and thought that the prank was "hilarious" and "funny".
In a follow-up video, Dara replied to a comment and explained that the family did bring a spare back of shorts for her brother, and told viewers to "stop being so sensitive" in the caption.
I guess you can't win them all...
