An unemployed man has said that he resents his parents for giving him $100,000.

Qiaochu Yuan, 35, who has been jobless for three years, took to Twitter to explain that he resents his parents for paying his college tuition, giving him tens of thousands of dollars, and generally spoiling him.

On Thursday, July 15, Yaun said that he had "admitted some things" to himself that were "mostly about money."

"Let's start here: last august my mom gave me $100,000 for my birthday. i resented her for this and also suppressed the resentment [sic]," he wrote, going by the name Magnificent Adult Baby on Twitter.

He explained that he had the realization on an acid trip where he wrote for possibly 12 straight hours.

"The reason you're alive right now and not starving to death on the street even though you haven't had a job in three years is because your parents send you money because they love you," Yuan tweeted.

He said he realized that he was "literally Harry f****** Potter."

"I'm always being protected by my parents' love in the form of money," Yuan said.

Yuan explained that when he ran out of money, the biggest consequence he faced was telling his parents, who had already spent $175,000 on his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology "because they wanted me to have a good education and a good life."

"My parents took care of me materially at the expense of taking care of me emotionally," Yuan tweeted. "It took me until this trip to even kinda experience the money they spent as an act of care."

The 35-year-old wrote that while he understands why his parents gave him so much financial support, they left him "incredibly sheltered in a bunch of ways."

"They never even made me do chores. I was very spoiled, and in retrospect, it wasn't good for me," he said.

Needless to say, the thread did not go unnoticed on Twitter, and people were quick to respond by sharing their own thoughts about Yuan resenting his parents.

One Twitter user wrote: "This was a really hard read. 100k is what my income would add up to after almost a *decade*. My parents had to skip meals to feed me when I was growing up. This thread might have been better to share with a therapist, not twitter [sic]."

A second added: "That is so sad. You know what you could do? REDISTRIBUTE TO PPL IN NEED. I’m a 23yr black queer artist and college student in need. If you don’t know how to make a difference, gone head and give that $$$ to ppl who will [sic]."

A third wrote: "Wow that's rough man, i mean i've been homeless since my apartment burnt down last year but i guess being handed a hundred thousand dollars could give one a sad too [sic].
