A Starbucks barista has taken to social media to share the ludicrous order he received from one customer that he joked made him "want to quit".

Now, anybody who has ever worked in hospitality will tell you that although "the customer is always right", that doesn't stop you from wanting to jump the counter and tell them how you really feel.

And after receiving an outrageous order from one customer, a Starbucks barista by the name of Josie took to social media to voice his exacerbation.

Writing alongside a snap of the lengthy order, Josie - who used the handle @ProjectJosiee - joked: "On todays episode of why i wanna quit my job [sic]".

In the picture of the order - which made for a customer called Edward on May 1 - Josie had to prepare the following beverage:

Vt Crml Crnch Frap

5 Banana
Ex Caramel Drizzle
Extra Whip
Extra Ice
Ex Cinn Dol Top
7 pumps Add Dk Crml Sauce
Ex Caramel Crunch
1 pump Honey Blend
Ex Sltd Bm Btr
5 pumps Frap Rst Cof
7 Add Frapp Chips
Heavy Cream
Double Blended

Now, I know Starbucks customers are encouraged to enjoy their orders the way they would like - but come on! Just reading that order makes my blood sugars rise.

Since posting the tweet on May 2, it has already amassed over 13,000 retweets and more than 146,000 'likes'.

Josie's post also attracted a lot of attention from other baristas, who were quick to share their own nightmare orders from nightmare customers:

Attempting to get into Edward's mind, one Twitter user replied: "What type of Groundhog’s Day scenario led this person to figure out this was the combination they liked?"

Another Twitter user offered an explanation as to why baristas are seeing more and more of these overcomplicated orders, writing:

"Before mobile ordering was a thing I was intimidated by the ordering process as well. I feel that some these ridiculous orders are from people who can now experiment via mobile order without feeling rushed/intimidated."

And after the tweet blew up to the extend where it started trending on the social media platform, Josie jokingly replied: "Y’all gon get me fired. stop interacting [sic]".
