16-year-old actor and TikTok star Sissy Sheridan recently took to the social media video sharing app to reveal that a mask she was wearing during an appointment at Icing by Claire's had accidentally been pierced into her ear.
Sheridan, who also hosts a Nickelodeon web series named DIY With Me, said that she had gone to get her ears pierced at an Icing by Claire's store Sterling, Virginia, nearby to where she lives.
Sheridan provided pictures that showed the strap of her face mask still pierced into the back of her ear with BuzzFeed News, they show that it remained lodged in place even after they attempted to cut around it.

It's reported that they sent the same images to the store in question in pursuit of a refund, but were told that they would need to remove the earring and return it before a refund could be given.
"I’m wearing two masks because one covered more than the other. The blue one didn’t cover as much, and I knew the woman [doing the piercing] would be pretty close to me," Sheridan told BuzzFeed News.
"She does the first one, which is the right ear, and that was the one [she got] the mask stuck in.
"I had no idea. I’m just sitting in the chair. I didn’t feel anything. There was no sign the mask had been punctured in the ear."
Sheridan later uploaded a video of the aftermath of the incident to TikTok, along with the caption, "moral of the story. don’t get your ears pierced during a pandemic".

She told the news outlet that she was already displeased as she wasn't keen on the placement of the piercing. Then, she and her mother realized that her blue mask may have been pierced to her ear.
"[My mask] won't come off, so I thought it might have gotten stuck behind my ear or hair. I was like, mom, can you help me get it off? She’s trying to get it out. I’m like, oh my god, did she pierce the mask in my ear?" Sheridan said. At this point, she divulged that her ear was in some pain, and her mother had to try and keep her calm as she was "hysterically sobbing".
Sissy Sheridan and her mother are now calling on Icing to issue them with a full refund for the $73 piercing, but have been told this won't be possible until they return the earring in question.
