Fans of great feats of engineering will be amazed by this - as the largest cruise ship in the world is due to set sail next year - and it is huge!
Cruising is one of those things that you either love or hate - for some, staring into the vast abyss of the ocean is a freeing feeling, and for others, it is a nightmare.
There are many vessels dotted around the world, so every climate is catered for - from sunning yourself in the Caribbean to exploring the fjords in Norway.
One thing that is for sure, is cruise ships seem to be getting bigger with time, and wait until you see what is due to hit the seas next year.
Royal Caribbean International has announced that it will be launching a brand-new ship in January 2024 called Icon of the Seas - and the name really fits the image.
As reported by Business Today, the incredible vessel measures 1200ft in length and weighs a staggering 250,800 tonnes.
The ship boasts a world record six water slides, alongside seven swimming pools and nine whirlpools, because you can never have too much of a good thing.
According to the company, Icon of the Seas is set to claim the prize of being the largest cruise ship in the world as it is six percent bigger and 10ft longer than Wonder of the Seas, the current biggest.
So just how many people can this gargantuan vessel fit aboard? It has the capacity to hold 7960 people - 5610 of them will be passengers while the other 2350 will be crew members.
The ship embarked on a trial from the Meyer Turku in Finland as this is where construction on it started back in April 2022.
Following successful trial runs, the Icon of the Seas will make its way over to Miami where it will offer seven-night cruises around the Caribbean until at least April 2025.
The ship is basically a town that floats, because as well as the aforementioned water parks, it is 20 decks high, has a theatre, restaurants, a park that holds real plants, a dome that boasts floor-to-ceiling windows giving 220-degree views, plus much more.
Those who holiday on the ship will also stay at CocoCay for a private day - this is a destination reserved exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests in the Bahamas.
Don't panic - the ship has been rigorously tested and already has hundreds of miles under its belt and 2000 specialists have been aboard checking every inch of the ship to ensure that it is completely safe.
The Icon of the Seas is due to undergo some more tests later this year before it heads over to the Caribbean to begin life as the biggest cruise ship the world has ever seen.
